Account Manager (w/ Branding/Digital Agency Experience)
We are looking to bring on an experienced, full-time Account Manager to join our team. This role will provide project direction, tactical support, and client relationship management across brand (brand strategy and visual identity), print and digital experience (digital strategy, web design, content strategy, and development) engagements while keeping on top of day-to-day project activities. This person strives to understand our clients’ businesses, evaluates client feedback and communications to facilitate our teams’ response, manages, troubleshoots, and acts as a trusted advisor to our clients, always looking for opportunities for Sequel to add value. Creative problem solving and being detail-oriented is key to our fast-paced and multi-disciplinary agency environment.
Responsibilities include:
Client Relationship Management
- Lead all appropriate client communications with clear, concise, accurate information
- Organize and lead client status meetings to report on progress, blockers, presentation dates, input required, and detailed next steps for awareness and action with all working teams
- Stay up to speed on work across the full project to be able to connect dots, listen for insights in managing the client, and create a meaningful partnership with internal leads
- Actively problem solve short-term and long-term issues around work process, scope creep, timing, and budget to get ahead of challenges
- Build trust with clients (including identifying opportunities to provide complementary counsel)
- Listen for new business opportunities
Team Facilitation
- Organize and lead internal status meetings and confirm workflow with team — this includes staff and freelance resources
- Prepare for and attend weekly studio operations meetings and report on all your projects in play
- Coordinate the internal process to help get the work produced — including strategy, content, design, digital, production and delivery
- Continuously align work development with scope and project schedule
- Maintain fluency with all work in order to speak to clients about the process and what is needed with their partnership
Operations Administration
- Maintain all project finances, tracking, and billing
- Help to grow accounts with existing clients — including proposal writing, detailed work plan development, staff planning, and budgeting
- Actively participate in new client business opportunities as appropriate
Experience and Skill Set:
- Experience with strategic branding and identity projects, and knowledgeable about marketing best practices
- Excellent writing and communication skills (samples will be requested)
- Ability to prioritize multiple clients and concurrent projects
- Enthusiastic about working in a collaborative, fast-paced, multi-disciplinary studio environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail (and the capacity to use those skills to plan internal and external meetings, manage project plans, prepare meeting notes, etc.)
- Experience in digital projects (from UX/UI to content strategy and SEO to working with developers and designers on web sites, digital campaigns, etc.) (a plus)
- Experience using project management tools and software (a plus)
Salary range: $100K–$130K (based on experience and qualifications)
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Years of Experience: 7+ years — design agency experience is preferred
Hybrid work model: Currently 3 days in office (Tues, Wed, Thurs) and 2 days remote, or as is considered safe
